Wildlife officials say cougar attacks are rare but share practical tips: travel in groups, make noise, appear large, back away slowly, and fight back if attacked.

• Sheriff's office: 2 injured in off-road vehicle rollover in Sand Mountain dunes area (stgeorgeutah.com) — Hurricane Valley Fire & Rescue crews helped respond after a rented side-by-side rolled over Tuesday afternoon in the Sand Mountain dunes near St. George, injuring two men in their 20s. Both had relatively minor injuries, were brought down to a command post for evaluation, and declined hospital transport, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

• WATCH: Bodycam footage shows evacuation of burning apartment building (abc4.com) — Hurricane firefighters were among several departments called early Sunday to a major apartment fire at Bella Vista Apartments in St. George, where 20 units were damaged and dozens displaced. Newly released bodycam video shows officers forcing doors, rescuing a trapped resident by ladder, and eight St. George officers later treated for smoke inhalation while residents escaped without reported injuries.
