• Construction worker critically injured after being buried 9-feet underground in trench collapse at Mapleton site (abc4.com) — A construction worker was critically injured Thursday evening when a trench collapsed at a private construction site near 1925 Charlotte Court in Mapleton, burying him about nine feet underground. Mapleton Fire and Rescue coordinated a multi-agency effort, keeping verbal contact through a small void before freeing the 24‑year‑old around 9 p.m., after which he was flown to the hospital in critical condition as investigators review what happened.
