📰 News we're reading

• Latest Park City Clark Ranch development plans have fewer buildings, units (kpcw.org) — Park City planners are reviewing a scaled-back Clark Ranch affordable housing proposal that cuts total units from 201 to 164 and tweaks building heights, layouts, and parking. With most of the 344-acre site preserved as open space, the 10-acre housing area near Quinn’s Junction is being refined to better match nearby neighborhoods while future meetings will tackle wildlife and environmental impacts.

• Park City Council approves scaled-back raises (parkrecord.com) — Park City’s elected officials just approved smaller-than-original pay raises that take effect July 1, setting the mayor’s salary at about $66,700 and council pay at $34,373. The straw-poll decision followed weeks of debate among Parkites over fair compensation versus public-service expectations, with a fuller review planned before the 2027 city election.

• X Games announces creation, sale of Park City club (parkrecord.com) — A new XC Park City Winter Club has been created for the X Games League, owned by part-time local resident and investor Allen Thorpe. The team will debut in the 2027 winter season, with Thorpe aiming to draft Park City athletes, bring X Games events—and possibly a league stop—to town, and build fresh community connections around elite winter sports.
