Parents and students packed meetings, circulated a “Save Cherry Creek” petition, and pressed the district about enrollment and west-side development, showing how even young residents can influence decisions that shape Springville schools.

• Utah State's Logan Hammer finishes as national runner-up in Pole Vault (cachevalleydaily.com) — A Utah State javelin thrower from Springville, Walker Deede, earned second-team All-American honors with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He rebounded from two shaky early throws to nearly hit 70 meters, while teammate Logan Hammer set a school and Mountain West pole vault record to finish national runner-up.
