Windham Southeast School District Board Mtg 4/14/26 (brattleborotv.org) — Brattleboro-area residents can see what the Windham Southeast School District Board handled this week, from student climate data to new policies on gender freedom and bullying. The meeting also outlined how a vacated board seat will be filled and previewed an April 25 community forum at BUHS on Act 73 and other legislative changes affecting local schools.

Brattleboro art center provides community for those facing homelessness (wcax.com) — A Brattleboro art space called 69a is offering people facing homelessness a welcoming place to create art while also getting daily meals, hygiene supplies, and a safe bathroom. Open Wednesday through Sunday and run by people with lived experience of homelessness, the center is free to use and hopes to expand hours and space if community support grows.

4. 'Dear to my heart': Jessica Green was drawn to Hinsdale — and education (reformer.com) — A longtime Hinsdale resident with deep personal and professional ties to Brattleboro has shifted from running local travel agencies on Eliot Street and beyond to serving as a special education case manager and Hinsdale Select Board member. Her students now gain hands-on experience at Brattleboro organizations like the Humane Society and the Reformer, while she continues to celebrate the close connection between quieter Hinsdale and bustling Brattleboro across the new bridge.

5. Local youth showcase skills at 4‑H Regional Communications Day (reformer.com) — Brattleboro hosted the Windham and Windsor County 4-H Regional Communications Day at the UVM Extension office, where 17 local youth presented projects ranging from horse care to bread baking. Participants from several area clubs earned ribbons, gained public speaking experience, and prepared for upcoming statewide and regional 4-H competitions.
