The nonprofit also offers free weekly virtual Brain Club sessions, employment-support workshops, and kid connection programs that link families across states, giving local residents new ways to find community, practical support, and more inclusive care.

2. Nighthawks defeat Mountaineers, 13-10 (timesargus.com) — In Montpelier, the Vermont Mountaineers’ late seven-run surge at Recreation Field wasn’t enough to catch the Upper Valley Nighthawks, who held on for a 13–10 win. The Mountaineers still lead the NECBL in extra-base hits, and they’ll get another shot at Upper Valley on Friday night at Maxfield Sports Complex.

3. Storms cause damage in the Northeast Kingdom, street flooding in Barre City (wcax.com) — Heavy storms Thursday evening led to a National Weather Service Flood Warning for the Montpelier and Barre area after torrential rain caused poor-drainage flooding in Barre City. Trees and power lines were also brought down in Lyndon and Burke, and residents were urged to avoid downtown Barre streets until water receded, underscoring how quickly conditions can deteriorate nearby.

4. Gov. Scott signs executive order aimed at lowering health insurance costs (wcax.com) — From the Statehouse in Montpelier, Gov. Phil Scott has signed an executive order intended to attract more health insurers, boost competition, and lower premiums for Vermonters.
