• Vt. vineyards applaud possible federal recognition to boost wine industry (wcax.com) — Shelburne winemakers are at the center of a push to have the Champlain Valley recognized as a federal American Viticultural Area, a move they say could boost tourism and visibility for Vermont wines. Shelburne Vineyard’s co-founder first filed the petition in 2022, and federal regulators are now considering the designation that would highlight the region’s unique lake-moderated climate.
