• Windsor County sheriff faces additional sex misconduct allegations (vnews.com) — White River Junction residents are learning that Windsor County Sheriff Ryan Palmer now faces additional criminal charges related to alleged sexual misconduct, following earlier counts filed in January. State police say the investigation remains active, with a May 14 court appearance scheduled in Rutland, and they’re asking anyone with relevant information to contact investigators.
   

• Road construction: Making the ends meet is getting harder (vermontbiz.com) — Drivers in White River Junction should soon see relief on I-89, with the $53 million Connecticut River bridge widening toward Lebanon expected to wrap up in August. The project will create a continuous six-lane crossing between I-91 and NH 10, part of a broader, cash-strapped statewide push to maintain and upgrade Vermont’s roads, bridges, and bike-pedestrian infrastructure.
