• School districts to pursue voluntary mergers under education bill (deerfieldvalleynews.org) — Whitingham residents should know that local school districts will need to design their own merger plans, which must be submitted to the state by September 2027. At a recent Windham Southwest Supervisory Union board meeting in Whitingham, the superintendent explained that planning for these voluntary consolidations is already underway as Vermont awaits the governor’s signature on the new education bill.
