• Town plan should address short-term rentals, planners say (deerfieldvalleynews.org) — Wilmington’s Planning Commission is considering adding language to the town plan asking homeowners not to rent short-term to more people than their septic systems are permitted to handle. The update would clarify the town’s stance on overcrowded rentals while the broader 2018 plan is being refreshed.

• McLaren says ski accident helped him decide to run for Lt. Governor (deerfieldvalleynews.org) — A visit to the Cup and Saucer diner just north of Wilmington village set the scene for lieutenant governor candidate Ryan McLaren to describe how a 2017 ski accident at Mad River Glen reshaped his life. He says the injury deepened his commitment to social change and ultimately pushed him toward seeking Vermont’s second-highest office.
