Downed Tree Blocks Metro Commuters On These NoVA Lines, Shuttle Services Announced

A tree hanging over Metrorail tracks near Arlington Cemetery caused cascading delays for morning commuters Tuesday.

ARLINGTON, VA – A downed tree outside of Arlington National Cemetery put a damper on Metro commuters’ return to work Tuesday morning.

Blue Line trains were single-tracking to get around the obstacle, Metrorail announced at 6:15 a.m. About an hour later, the service announced that Blue and Silver Line trains would not be running between Pentagon City and Foggy Bottom due to the obstacle, with delays cascading through the Blue, Orange and Silver Lines.
