Person Struck By Metro Train At Northern Virginia Station

According to Metrorail, a "trespasser" was struck by a train at Pentagon station, causing disruptions.

PENTAGON CITY, VA – Metrorail announced that customers would be experiencing delays on the Blue and Yellow Lines after a person was struck at Pentagon station on Wednesday morning.

Metro announced the incident at 10:40 a.m. Between the time of the incident and 3 p.m., Blue/Yellow Line trains were single-tracking between L'Enfant Plaza and Pentagon City and Yellow Line trains were only operating between Huntington and Mt Vernon Square.

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency also reported shortly before noon that the lower platform at the Pentagon station was closed, but the upper platform remains in operation.

At around 3 p.m., Metro announced that normal operations had resumed.

Metro is referring to the person who was struck as a "trespasser."
