Active Gaming Facility To Offer Free Play Days At Loudoun County Opening

STERLING, VA — The revitalization of Cascades Marketplace is continuing as a new entertainment option arrives at the center.

Activate, an active gaming facility, will open Wednesday, Aug. 27 at Cascade Marketplace, 20964 Southbank Street, Suite 120, Sterling, VA. Free play will be offered from Wednesday, Aug. 27 to Saturday, Aug. 30. This is Activate's first Virginia location.

The new gaming experience seeks to offer a mix of physical activity and gaming for players of all ages. The 9,212-square-foot location features 11 high-tech game rooms with challenges for players to solve. Players can choose cooperative mode to team up with other players or compete against each other in competitive mode. Players' progress is tracked through RFID wristbands.

Activate launched in 2017 and has been one of the fastest-growing entertainment companies globally. The gaming experience has found success through game rooms like Mega Grid, Laser, Scan and Control that have gone viral on TikTok. Today, it has more than 40 locations in North America, the United Kingdom and Dubai. It has plans to expand more internationally to France, Germany, Norway, Denmark and more countries.

Hours at the new Sterling location are 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays to Saturdays and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
