Leesburg Man Sentenced For Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

LEESBURG, VA — A Leesburg resident was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release on April 16 for receipt of child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia announced.

According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of Virginia, Jorge Antonio Escobar, 50, downloaded and saved child sex abuse material, including depictions of prepubescent minors, to his computer at his Leesburg residence.

He was caught when an undercover agent with the Department of Homeland Security traced an IP address that was sharing suspected child sexual abuse material over the BitTorrent peer to peer network as one belonging to Escobar.

According to court documents, in April 2023, agents searched Escobar’s house, where they found CSAM images on several of his devices. Escobar admitted to searching for and downloading such material, though he denied sharing it. He pleaded guilty to one count of receiving CSAM in December 2025.
