Loudoun Man Given 8 Years In Prison For Possessing 'Disgusting' Child Sex Abuse Material
A Loudoun County man has been given a sentence exceeding state guidelines for possession of child sexual abuse material.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – A Loudoun County man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his conviction on 10 counts of possessing child pornography. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that Carlos Daniel Gil Tobar, 24, of Sterling, had been sentenced to eight years in prison on Sept. 24.
Tobar was arrested after the Herndon Police Department was tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child sexual abuse material was being uploaded to a cloud storage website in their vicinity in 2025.

In a search of Tobar’s Sterling residence, police found disturbing images involving infants.
In announcing the sentence, Judge Stephen E. Sincavage said, “I cannot even describe how disgusting and disturbing those images are,” according to a release from the Commonwealth's Attorney. He said he agreed with prosecutors that the sentencing guidelines were inadequate in this case.
