$600K In Jewelry Stolen During Armed Fairfax County Store Robbery: Police

SPRINGFIELD, VA — Fairfax County police are searching for four suspects accused of stealing approximately $600,000 worth of jewelry during an armed robbery at a Springfield business Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to the 7000 block of Brookfield Plaza for a reported robbery, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Detectives with the department's Major Crimes Bureau took over the investigation.

Police said their preliminary investigation found that four male suspects arrived at the business in a black Acura sedan. The suspects shattered the business's front glass door to get inside.

Employee Held At Gunpoint During Robbery

Once inside, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at an employee while the other suspects smashed display cases, according to police. The group stole jewelry valued at approximately $600,000 before all four fled in the same vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Fairfax County police released surveillance images of suspects investigators believe were involved in the robbery.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2.
