📰 News we're reading

• Drought update: Over for us, for now, with dry weather in the forecast (augustafreepress.com) — Emporia is currently under a drought warning advisory as state officials report that, despite recent soaking rains, dry and warmer-than-normal conditions are expected across much of Virginia over the next two weeks. Residents should stay alert for potential changes, since the region’s status could shift again if the dry pattern persists and local water supplies feel the strain.
