The bus driver was not injured and remained at the scene. Alcohol and drugs do not preliminarily appear to have been factors for the driver, police said.
The initial response involved three police departments. Arlington County police said its officers were dispatched at 8:51 p.m. to a reported crash at 14th Street South and South Glebe Road. Officers from Arlington and Fairfax counties responded along with Metro Transit Police.
The agencies initially described the scene using locations on opposite sides of the Fairfax-Arlington boundary. Metro Transit Police said Sunday night that Fairfax County’s Crash Reconstruction Unit was leading the investigation while Metro officers and supervisors assisted at the scene.

Fairfax County police said the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.
