Planned for completion in 2028, it will add new housing, retail, and amenities like a pool, fitness center, and work‑from‑home spaces, transforming underused parking and former school and university sites.

Softer Arlington real estate market expected through rest of the year (arlnow.com) — Falls Church's housing market stayed hot in August, with 22 homes sold versus 16 a year earlier and properties going under contract in just 21 days on average. Single‑family homes averaged nearly $1.8 million, attached homes about $999,000, and the city led the entire D.C. region in per‑square‑foot prices so far this year.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information or concerns to contact Fairfax County's Major Crimes Bureau or submit an anonymous tip online.
   

5. This DC hospital ranks among US News' best children's hospitals (wtop.com) — Families in Falls Church can take some comfort knowing Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital in the city ranks No. 3 in Virginia and No. 16 in the Mid‑Atlantic for pediatric care. The U.S. News & World Report list, based on outcomes and resources across 11 specialties, also places nearby Children's National on its national Honor Roll.
