15th Annual Jack T. Farrar, Jr. "Fill the Shoes" 5K

The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area, Arlington and Alexandria City, and Falls Church will host a televised Candidate Forum for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The forum will give voters an opportunity to hear directly from the certified candidates who accepted the invitation to participate. The candidates participating are Tony A. Sabio (R), Shelly M. Arnoldi (L), and Tim S. Sharman (I). 
Viewers may watch the forum live on Fairfax Public Access, Channel 10 on Cox and Verizon Fios, or livestream on YouTube through the Inside Scoop show. During the live broadcast, viewers may also call in with questions using the telephone number displayed on the screen, as time permits. 
The forum is designed to provide voters with an opportunity to hear the participating candidates respond to questions in advance of the November 3 General Election.

EdenSpring is a non-profit dedicated to providing restorative care and a safe haven for survivors of sex trafficking. They offer up to two years of rent-free, serene housing alongside wraparound services like trauma-informed counseling, medical care and job skills training.
We will offer Wine, Cheese, an opportunity to learn more about and donate to EdenSpring and we want to have some fun with Art too! Nepenthe will raffle off a couple of sculptures from our favorite Uruguayan Studio—-Taller Clavelli—-and we will have an original painting by Molly Wright available to the highest bidder—-100% of proceeds going to EdenSpring.

Retired U.S. Army historian Stephen J. Lofgren explores personal accounts of the attack on the Pentagon, based on hundreds of interviews with witnesses, first responders, and survivors of the Pentagon in the days immediately following the event.
Stephen J. Lofgren is the General Editor of “Then Came the Fire: Personal Accounts from the Pentagon, 11 September 2001,” published in 2011, by the U.S. Army Center of Military History at Fort McNair, where he was a division chief.
