Sgt Maj John Champe SAR participated in a Flag Raising ceremony for Daughters of the American Revolution

The Flag raising ceremony is held at DAR Headquarters Washington DC as one of the Annual DAR Continental Congress opening ceremonies

The 135th annual Daughters of the American Revolution Continental Congress opened last night, June 23, with the annual flag raising ceremony. Because of inclement weather the ceremony was moved indoors. An Honor Guard of four chapters of Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution presented colors to kick off the flag raising ceremony.

Participating for the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter was Ken Bonner; for the Colonel James Wood II Chapter: Brett Osborn; for the Fairfax Resolves Chapter:Jim Cordes; and for the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter: Bill Schwetke. All SAR participants wore Continental Army uniforms.
