Fatal Stabbing In Warrenton Leads To Charges For Manassas Man, Brother: Report

MANASSAS, VA – A Manassas man and his brother have been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Warrenton, though neither has been charged with murder or malicious wounding, according to a new report.

Jerome Cochuran-Daniels of Manassas was arrested in Fauquier County on Sept. 20 and charged with concealing or moving a dead body, obstructing an investigation and assaulting a police officer. His brother, Jalil Cochuran-Daniels of Williamsburg, who was arrested the same day, is charged with concealing or moving a dead body.

InsideNova reports that the two men were arrested in connection with the death of Donnette Yvette Gunn on Sept. 19. Gunn was found by emergency responders in the back of a pickup truck at 147 W. Shirley Ave. in Warrenton on the night of Sept. 19 with stab wounds to her chest and neck. She was pronounced dead.

When police arrived at the scene of the incident, Jerome Cochuran-Daniels, 23, had blood on his hands and clothing and was talking to emergency responders, the outlet reports. He refused to answer questions without a lawyer. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was found to be carrying a utility knife.

Jalil Cochuran-Daniels, 21, walked into the area of the incident from a nearby location and was also arrested, the outlet reports.

Both have hearings scheduled for Nov. 4.
