Juke Box Heroes: Manassas High School Singers To Join Rock Legends Onstage For NoVA Show

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – A Prince William County high school choir will join the band Foreigner onstage at Jiffy Lube Live on Saturday to perform the group’s biggest hit.

Members of two Osbourn Park High School choirs will sing “I Want to Know What Love Is,” during Foreigner's only stop in Virginia. Foreigner has been performing throughout 2026 as part of the band’s 50th anniversary celebration.

This series of performances, the Double Trouble Double Vision tour with Southern rock stalwarts Lynyrd Skynyrd, kicks off Thursday in Atlanta.

Joining the hitmakers of the 70s and 80s onstage at Jiffy Lube Live will be Osbourn Park’s Madrigal Singers, the school’s most elite auditioned group, with 25 members, as well as the 2026-2027 ensemble chorus.

'Say You Will': Teen Singers, Experienced Performers

At this point, the kids probably know Foreigner’s questions about love by heart. But do they (want to) know what Foreigner is?

Osbourn Park Director of Choral Music Dominick Izzo tells Patch, “The kids are so excited.” While not all of them knew a lot about the band, “all are familiar with their music.”

You might say they “Can’t Wait.”

And while the kids (or maybe their parents) might understandably be star-struck, many of the teens are experienced performers themselves.

“When you are selected for Madrigals, I treat you like a professional,” Izzo says. “This ensemble performs all of the time across the DMV for community events and concerts.” The Madrigal Singers have twice recently been selected as national finalists for the American Prize in High School Choral Performance. They have also been selected to perform twice at the Virginia Music Educators Conference, the highest honor a school performing group can receive in Virginia.

“As their teacher, I strive to give all the singers life-changing experiences to keep them lifelong lovers of music,” Izzo says. “We have sung with professional orchestras, jazz bands, sung backup for rock groups and Broadway stars, but always love singing for the Manassas community.”

How they came to be preparing to sing with these heralded hard rockers is a bit of a fluke. “We sang with the group when they came into town in 2015,” Izzo says. The band reached out to several local schools for that performance and Osbourn Park was the first to respond. “Somehow the tour manager still had my cell phone. It is always cool when Foreigner calls on a Friday!”

The band is donating $500 to the choir, which Izzo says will be used to support music purchases for the five school concerts planned for the coming school year.

'Until The End of Time': Foreigner Today

For those who haven’t been within earshot of a radio for the past 40 years: Foreigner is a British-American rock band founded in 1976. They’ve got 16 top 30 hits under their belt, including their biggest, which the kids will help sing on, as well as “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “Hot Blooded,” “Cold as Ice” and more. Their songs show up in movies and TV shows, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. "I Want To Know What Love Is" made Rolling Stone Magazine's 2003 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Founding member Mick Jones was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

Foreigner’s live lineup has evolved over the years. The current tour introduced a new lead singer, Luis Maldonado. Earlier in 2026, original frontman Lou Gramm joined the group onstage for several performances.

Foreigner’s new live album, “In the Eye of the Storm,” drops on Friday. The album is the official soundtrack to the band’s concert film, captured September 6 and 7, 2025, at Ellis Island and Brooklyn’s DUMBO House. The album is available to stream and download here.
