Joon restaurant in Tysons partners with Roads & Kingdoms for a dinner benefiting Children of Persia humanitarian efforts.

TYSONS, VA — Joon, a Persian restaurant in Tysons, will host a "Solidarity Supper" on Monday, April 27, to raise funds for humanitarian relief in Iran. The event, held in partnership with media company Roads & Kingdoms, aims to support families and children affected by food insecurity and displacement.
The dinner will feature a family-style meal and a discussion centered on life in Iran. Featured speakers include Jason Rezaian, a Global Opinions writer for The Washington Post and former Tehran bureau chief; Nathan Thornburgh, co-founder of Roads & Kingdoms; and Chef Najmieh Batmanglij, a Persian cookbook author and co-owner of Joon.
Net proceeds from the $150 tickets will benefit Children of Persia. According to the organization, it is a nonprofit that provides food, medicine, and educational support to underprivileged children in Iran. The group operates under specific licenses from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, which allow for the funding of humanitarian projects and disaster relief within the country.
