Halloween Kicks Off In Old Town With 3 Upcoming Events For Kids, Adults And Furry Friends

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Old Town Alexandria is launching the Halloween fun with three events aimed at sticker fans, young trick-or-treaters and dogs.

Alexandria businesses Penny Post, Pippin Toy Co. and The Dog Park are organizing separate Halloween events over two weekends in October, including a new sticker crawl and two returning trick-or-treat traditions.

The first-ever Sticker Treat, presented by Penny Post, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16-17 and noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 18, depending on participating businesses' hours.

The event is geared toward tweens and adults and will send participants to more than two dozen Old Town businesses and attractions to collect stickers. Tickets include a limited-edition sticker book designed by No Plan Studio.

Tickets are available through the Sticker Treat Eventbrite page, where they’re listed as “going fast.”

The following weekend, Old Town Trick-or-Treat will return from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

The free event, now presented by Pippin Toy Co., invites children and families to collect treats from more than two dozen participating Old Town businesses. Families can pick up a map at Pippin Toy Co., 1310 King St.

The event will also include drink specials at Mudhouse Coffee and children's activities at The Spice and Tea Exchange, Lowery's Dial and Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden.

The Halloween festivities will continue with Doggie Trick-or-Treat from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

Dog owners can pick up a map and goody bag at The Dog Park, 705 King St., before visiting participating Old Town businesses. Costumes for pooches and owners are encouraged.
