Luxury Chocolatier To Bring European-Style Hot Chocolate To Alexandria: Report

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A luxury British chocolatier will open a location in Alexandria this fall, according to a new report.

Hotel Chocolat launched in the U.K. in 2003 as a rebrand of a company launched in 1993. The chocolatier promises “more cocoa, less sugar,” and a playful, ethical approach to the confection. The brand has grown into an empire of more than 160 stores, a hotel, and products from candy to chocolate drinks and chocolate-making and enhancing utensils.

Now, Confectionery Production reports, the company will add three new locations – including one on King Street – to its existing six Chicago-area stores. According to the outlet, the new locations will not only sell chocolates, but will feature the brand’s Velvetiser Cafe, where chocolate drinks are made using Hotel Chocolat’s European-style hot chocolate maker.

Hotel Chocolat hasn’t published a specific address or opening date for the new store, but it is reported to be launching in autumn.

The other new locations will be in Utah and California.
