One Person Critically Injured in Annandale Apartment Fire

One person was found suffering life-threatening injuries when firefighters responded to an apartment fire in Annandale Saturday morning.

ANNANDALE, VA — One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a house fire Saturday in the 7500 block of McWhorter Place in Annandale, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue reports.

Crews responded to reports of smoke in an apartment at 7:24 a.m. and found fire on the top floor of a three-story apartment building. A second alarm was called. The county fire service says the fire was quickly brought under control and two other people were evaluated for injuries.

No firefighters were injured. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
