Shark Tank-Backed Sweets Chain Opening First NoVA Location
An ice cream concept backed by the business reality show will open its first location in Northern Virginia this summer.
ASHBURN, VA – An ice cream chain that won support on the business reality show “Shark Tank” will open its first Northern Virginia location in August, according to a new report.
The Washington Business Journal reports that a Crispy Cones location will open in Ashburn in August. According to the journal, franchisee Chill Treats has leased space at the Bram Quarter retail center for its first store and plans three more over the next few years.
Crispy Cones are cone-shaped pastries covered with sugar and cinnamon and grilled on a rotisserie, caramelizing the sugar. They’re sometimes coated with chocolate or other spreads, filled with soft-serve ice cream and can be topped with other treats.

The concept, inspired by Czech sweet treats, earned founders Jeremy and Kaitlyn Carlson a $200,000 investment during their 2023 “Shark Tank” appearance. Since then, the chain has expanded to dozens of locations in 17 states, including a shop in Richmond. Two new states are adding locations in the coming months.
