This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other families and introduce your child to the grounds - natural play area, play structures, gardens, and outdoor classroom - which are special places for them. These spaces offer your child a safe place to wonder, discover, and explore while increasing their confidence and independence as they transition to begin the new school year.
Families interested in registering for the upcoming 2025-26 school year are invited to learn more and meet the Director. Classes for 2's, 3's, and 4's are offered for mornings and all day. This free, family-friendly event features music throughout the evening, delicious food, drink and dessert trucks, festive giveaways from community sponsors, and a spectacular fireworks show to close out the night. In honor of the United States and Virginia 250th Anniversary celebrations, attendees can also enjoy special commemorative activities, including the official VA250 Mobile Museum Experience and participate in a festive family parade. The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.

If the last couple of weeks are any indication, summer is arriving early in McLean. After a cool and wet spring, the recent stretch of warm temperatures has many families thinking about pool days, summer activities, and how they want to spend the months ahead. With Fairfax County schools preparing to wrap up for the year, now is the perfect time to make plans for a summer filled with recreation, friendship, and community. The McLean Swim &amp; Tennis Association (MSTA) is currently welcoming new members and, unlike many area clubs, we have both Equity and Seasonal Rental Memberships available with no waiting list. Located in the heart of McLean, MSTA offers a family-friendly environment where members can enjoy swimming, tennis, social events, and a strong sense of community throughout the summer season. For families looking to keep children active during the school break, MSTA is home to the McLean Marlins Swim Team and offers opportunities for swimmers of all experience levels. Whether your child is just learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming or is looking to continue developing their racing skills, there are opportunities to participate and grow in a supportive environment. In addition to swim team activities, MSTA hosts summer swim camps and tennis camps that help children stay active, build confidence, and make new friends during the summer months. These programs are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible to a wide range of ages and skill levels. While children enjoy camps, swim team, and recreational activities, parents can take advantage of the club's pool, tennis courts, and social atmosphere.
