3 People Indicted In Separate Fairfax County Homicide Cases

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Three men accused in separate Fairfax County homicides over the past year have been indicted on murder charges, according to Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano.

A Fairfax County grand jury returned the indictments Monday following preliminary hearings in each case. The killings occurred in Annandale, Reston and Bailey's Crossroads.

Annandale

Musa Kargbo, 43, of Prince George's County, Maryland, was indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Isha Koroma.

Koroma was found unresponsive with multiple sharp-force injuries to her face and neck on Nov. 7, 2025, in the 3900 block of Terrance Road, where she worked with a child in a home, according to testimony presented at an August preliminary hearing.

Surveillance video showed a man getting out of a car parked nearby, putting on a mask and walking toward the area where Koroma was later found, prosecutors said. The man was then seen running back to the vehicle carrying a bag.

The vehicle was registered to both Koroma and Kargbo, and detectives later found blood inside while executing a search warrant, according to prosecutors.

Kargbo's trial is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2027.

Reston

Marvin Morales Ortez, 24, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the Dec. 17, 2025, shooting death of 40-year-old Marvin Ernesto Morales.

The two lived at the same address on Fan Shell Court in Reston, prosecutors said.

At a preliminary hearing, another resident testified that she heard six gunshots upstairs and called 911. She then saw Morales Ortez, wearing a distinctive black-and-white sweatshirt, leave the house.

Police arrested Morales Ortez a short time later in nearby woods, where prosecutors said he was carrying a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Investigators found 9mm cartridges at the shooting scene.

His trial is scheduled for Dec. 7.

Bailey's Crossroads

Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, 39, was indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the March 29 stabbing death of 32-year-old Hugo Romero Vasquez.

Prosecutors said Romero Vasquez was found inside his Bailey's Crossroads home with multiple severe stab wounds after another resident heard a verbal confrontation between the two men.

Fairfax County detectives testified that Chavarria Muy admitted after his arrest that he stabbed Romero Vasquez with a machete. Investigators recovered a machete with what appeared to be blood on its blade from Chavarria Muy's vehicle, according to prosecutors.

His trial is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2027.
