Herndon Man Arrested At Dulles In 2014 Reston Hit-And-Run Case
A Herndon man accused in a 2014 Reston hit-and-run was arrested at Dulles Airport after police say he fled the country.

RESTON, VA — A Herndon man accused of seriously injuring a pedestrian in a 2014 hit-and-run crash in Reston has been arrested after authorities say he spent years outside the country and was taken into custody upon returning to the United States.
Fairfax County police said Enda Browne, 43, of Herndon, was arrested June 26 after the U.S. Marshals Service took him into custody at Washington Dulles International Airport. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on an outstanding felony hit-and-run charge.
According to police, the crash happened around 6:29 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2014, at the intersection of Reston Parkway and Spectrum Center Drive.

Detectives with the Fairfax County Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit said Browne was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion southbound on Reston Parkway when he struck an adult woman who was crossing the roadway before leaving the scene without stopping.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police said her condition was later upgraded to non-life-threatening.

Investigators later identified Browne and located the vehicle involved. He was arrested on a felony hit-and-run charge and released from custody pending trial, according to police.

Police said Browne failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing on June 8, 2015. Investigators later learned he had left the country, and the case remained unresolved until federal authorities notified detectives that Browne had been detained after arriving at Dulles Airport on June 26.
