Vertical Horizon Leads Free Reston Rocktoberfest Lineup In October
Vertical Horizon, Everything and Virginia Coalition will perform at the free Rocktoberfest at Reston Town Center Oct. 10.

RESTON, VA — Rock band Vertical Horizon will headline the second annual Rocktoberfest at Reston Town Center this fall, with fellow DMV favorites Everything and Virginia Coalition also scheduled to perform.
The free event is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Pavilion at Reston Town Center. According to organizers, Virginia Coalition will open the concert at 6 p.m., followed by Everything at 7:30 p.m. Vertical Horizon is scheduled to take the stage around 9 p.m.
Vertical Horizon is best known for its 1999 album Everything You Want, which was certified double platinum. The album's title track was named Billboard's most-played single of 2000.

All three bands have ties to the Washington region. Vertical Horizon's founders met while attending Georgetown University. Everything was formed by friends who played together while attending James Madison University, and Virginia Coalition was founded by students at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria.
Concertgoers will be able to participate in Reston Town Center's Sip & Stroll program during the event. Organizers said attendees can purchase alcoholic beverages from 11 participating restaurants and businesses surrounding the Pavilion and carry them within the designated event area.

Free parking will be available throughout the day and evening in Reston Town Center parking garages.
"How do you follow the runaway success of last year's inaugural Rocktoberfest with Smash Mouth?" Reston Town Center Association Executive Director Robert Goudie said in a statement. "By bringing together a marquee, top-to-bottom lineup of DMV superstars with national cred, huge hits, and dedicated followings. This is going to be almost five hours of non-stop, sensational rock 'n roll."
Alexandra Young, BXP's vice president of regional marketing, said the event builds on the success of the Town Center's summer concert series.
"Our uniquely programmed summer concerts deliver an unmatched experience and Rocktoberfest is designed to take it up a notch," Young said in a statement. "This lineup takes it up three notches, with iconic hits, national acclaim, and a celebration of local ties."
Rocktoberfest is presented by the Reston Town Center Association and BXP. According to the organizers, Hyatt Regency Reston is serving as the artist accommodations sponsor, Makers Union is the artist hospitality sponsor, Party DC helped secure the performers, and Meerkat Sound will provide lighting and sound.
