Celebrate creativity, community, and the planet at ChalkFest at eARTh Day 2026, a joyful outdoor art event hosted by Public Art Reston on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Reston Town Square Park. The event is presented as part of the annual eARTh Day celebration organized by the Reston Town Center Association.
ChalkFest welcomes artists of all ages and skill levels—from professional artists to enthusiastic amateurs, families and kids. Registered participants will create their own chalk masterpieces in designated squares, with prizes awarded in categories such as Professional Artists, Amateur Artists, Families & Kids, and People’s Choice.
Chalking begins at 11:00 a.m., judging starts at 4:00 p.m., and winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m.

As part of the day’s celebration, the winning poems from the Public Art Reston Poetry Contest will be featured in the program, highlighting the voices of local writers alongside the visual artwork.

Visitors of all ages are invited to stroll along and watch the pavement come alive as it transforms into a vibrant gallery of chalk art inspired by nature and environmental themes. Throughout the day, artists will fill the park’s surrounding streets with colorful drawings celebrating the beauty of the Earth.
But there’s more! There will also be free face painting for children, live music, and other family-friendly activities, making the event a lively and welcoming gathering for the whole community. Local businesses and community groups are also encouraged to participate. ChalkFest ay eARTh Day 2026 is a perfect opportunity for team-building and community engagement.
