Vienna Basketball Player Named Middle Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete

The South Lakes High School graduate is a team captain.

VIENNA, VA – Vienna’s Kyle Tang was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete for 2025-2026, Lebanon Valley College announced in a press release.

Tang plays for Lebanon Valley College’s basketball team, the Flying Dutchmen. He’s a graduate of South Lakes High School in Reston.

According to his college, Tang has led the conference in steals two out of his four years with the team. A senior captain, Tang played in 98 games, with 86 starts as point guard. He scored 720 total points, with 344 rebounds, 377 assists and 175 steals in his career. As a junior, Tang led the MAC Freedom conference in assists per game and total assists.

Tang, who is pursuing a degree in biology, has also been an academic standout. He earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors three times – every year he was eligible for the award – and was named to both the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court and the Eastern Athletics Communication Association Academic Honor Roll for 2024-25, according to Lebanon Valley College. He has been named to the Dean's List six times and has been named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll multiple times in his career, “embodying the true definition of a student-athlete,” according to the Middle Atlantic Conference.

The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) is the umbrella organization of three National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III conferences. It has 16 member colleges across the U.S. mid-Atlantic region.
