Walk On The Hill Gathering Showcases Historic Vienna Neighborhood
The Town of Vienna is holding its 55th annual Walk on the Hill event this Sunday.

VIENNA, VA — Dozens of Vienna's most beautiful historic properties and gardens will be featured this Sunday, April 26, during the Town of Vienna's Walk on the Hill event, organizers have announced.
The free event takes place annually in the town's historic Windover Heights neighborhood on the last Sunday of April. It is held along Windover Avenue between Lewis Street and Lawyers Road.
Organizers bill the stroll-at-your-own-pace get-together as a chance for community members to enjoy landscaped gardens and historic buildings, as well as live music, refreshments, and discussions about sustainable practices.

This year, more than 40 gardens and properties will be featured, along with performances by the Vienna Community Band and the Hickory Grove Band. The Ayr Hill Garden Club will also host an exhibit at Salsbury Spring Park.
This Sunday's walk will be the 55th such event. Because this year's walk nearly coincides with the 250th anniversary of the United States, there will be patriotic decorations on garden signs, colonial-themed activities for kids and a Vienna250 selfie station. There will also be a 250th anniversary-themed flower show at the Green Hedges School parking lot at 415 Windover Avenue. The lot is also available for event parking.

Walk on the Hill began in 1971, launched by the Ayr Hill Garden Club and Vienna residents, according to the city. It highlights one of Vienna's historic neighborhoods and continues to provide an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other.
It is presented by the Town of Vienna in partnership with Historic Vienna, Inc. and the Windover Heights Historic District.
