• Winchester Rescue Mission CEO to Sit on Bench for 24 Hours (thewinchestergazette.com) — Winchester residents are invited to join a 24-hour "Conversations on a Bench" event outside Winchester Rescue Mission on Valley Avenue from 3 p.m. Thursday to 3 p.m. Friday. You can stop by to talk about homelessness, addiction, and mental health, watch online, share the livestream, or donate as local leaders and neighbors join CEO Lauren Clouse on the bench.

• A.C.C.E.S.S. FOOD launches weekly Saturday pantry in Winchester (keenesentinel.com) — Starting in November, Winchester residents in need can visit A.C.C.E.S.S. FOOD's new Saturday pantry at the United Church of Winchester from 8 to 10 a.m. each week. The pantry will offer supplemental groceries and a place to connect with neighbors, while volunteers and donors are encouraged to help stock shelves, staff distributions, and spread the word.

• SU Breaks Ground on Wilkins Center Expansion Project (thewinchestergazette.com) — Shenandoah University has broken ground in Winchester on an expansion of the Wilkins Athletics and Events Center, adding new locker rooms near Shentel Stadium for football, cross country, and track teams by fall 2027. University leaders say the project will enhance student-athlete facilities, reduce game-day walking distances, and further strengthen the athletics hub that already serves the wider Winchester community.
