Prince William Career Fair To Connect Job Seekers With Employers

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Job seekers looking for a new career, changing industries or transitioning from military service can meet directly with employers at a free career fair in Prince William County next month.

The Prince William County Career and Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way in Triangle. Advance registration is required.

Employers representing government, skilled trades, manufacturing, health and life sciences and other industries will be on hand, with some hiring for immediate openings.

Participating employers are expected to include CACI, Helix Electric, MightyMeals, Prince William County Government, Prince William County Public Schools, Prince William County Police Department, Prince William Water and The Rose Gaming Resort, among others.

Job seekers can also receive résumé assistance and career counseling and learn about training programs. Representatives from George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, Virginia Career Works and other workforce organizations will be available.

Organizers encouraged attendees to dress professionally, bring multiple copies of their résumés and be prepared to speak directly with prospective employers.

"Hundreds of job seekers have participated in our career fairs because they offer something that's difficult to replicate online: direct access to employers who are actively hiring," said Michele Weatherly, a workforce development specialist with Prince William County.

The event is being hosted by the Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Virginia Career Works Northern Region in partnership with the Total Military Community Alliance.

Employers interested in participating should also register in advance. Space is limited.
