Shooting In Dumfries Wounds 20-Year-Old Man: Police

DUMFRIES, VA – Prince William County police are investigating a shooting in the area of Hickory Creek Court in Dumfries, they reported Sunday.

Police say they found a 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds on the 2900 block of Hickory Creek Court as they responded to a call just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The man was taken to an area hospital. The wound was to his lower body and his injury was not considered life threatening.

The victim was not cooperative with the investigation and there is no description of the suspect, police said in a statement.

Residents should expect an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.

Three people were arrested in March and April in connection with a fatal shooting at a public basketball court in the town March 9.
