• Arlington Police Department fires officer accused of possessing child porn (kiro7.com) — Arlington residents should know that the city’s police department has fired an officer following his arrest in a child pornography investigation, after an internal probe found policy violations. The case began when his girlfriend reported suspicious hard drives, and he has since faced additional arrest over an alleged violation of a domestic-violence no-contact order. Investigators say the new arrest does not change the underlying child-exploitation case.
   

• Snohomish County sister duo indicted on $80K gift card, ID theft scam (komonews.com) — An Arlington woman and her sister from Snohomish County are facing federal charges accusing them of using gift card and debit card schemes that allegedly cost a national retailer more than $80,000. Prosecutors say the case began as a local investigation before expanding to involve the FBI, and both women have pleaded not guilty and remain presumed innocent while awaiting trial.
