• Pierce County Library System receives national grant (pierceprairiepost.com) — Families using the Bonney Lake Pierce County Library can now request youth sensory kits, funded by a new $10,000 national grant to the Pierce County Library System. Aimed at children up to age 12, the in‑library kits include items like lap pads, ear protection, and visual timers to help kids with sensory needs feel more comfortable and supported during visits.
• Pierce County father gets years in prison for 15-month-old son's fentanyl death (thenewstribune.com) — A Bonney Lake father has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for manslaughter after his 15‑month‑old son died from ingesting fentanyl left on a bed in their Bonney Lake home. The child's mother previously received a shorter sentence, and the judge emphasized Tucker's long-term addiction and failure to seek help while ordering prison time followed by community custody and treatment.
