Retired surveyor helps history museum answer land questions (gigharbornow.org) — At Gig Harbor's Harbor History Museum, retired land surveyor Clark Rowland quietly helps residents untangle questions about their property lines, street names, and the community's early founders. Volunteering weekly, he digs through archives to trace land transfers and provide clear answers that connect today's homeowners with the area's past. 
2. The Light on Lackey Road (keypennews.org) — A woman who settled in Gig Harbor in 2014 and now lives on the Key Peninsula has become a familiar, dancing figure along Lackey Road, using daily walks, Christian music, and movement to stay upbeat after a demanding medical career. Her simple waves to passing drivers are her way of spreading kindness and reminding neighbors to keep moving, too.
3. Seattle Transit Trivia Answers (seattletransitblog.com) — Transit trivia fans might be surprised to learn that Sound Transit's Route 595 actually serves stops in Gig Harbor, making our city a small but notable outlier in the agency's taxing district. 4. Lyle Warren Miller (kitsapdailynews.com) — Gig Harbor families may remember Lyle Miller, the beloved social studies teacher who taught at Gig Harbor High School and coached golf and soccer across several Washington districts. The longtime Federal Way resident and former Naval Investigative Service agent passed away July 28 at 76, leaving a legacy of global stories, devoted caregiving to his late wife Betsy, and deep ties to students and family.
