• Steve Palmer named Lynden/Ferndale Masonic Lodge Educator of the Year (lyndentribune.com) — Meridian School Board still has one vacant seat after declining to appoint the lone applicant at its May 27 meeting, and will now seek guidance from Educational Service District 189. The board also honored Meridian Middle School science teacher Steve Palmer as the Lynden/Ferndale Masonic Lodge No. 56 Educator of the Year for his high-expectation, high-support classroom culture.
