• Eastside Arts Partnership Support Grants (Washington) (fundsforngos.org) — Eastside arts nonprofits serving Mercer Island residents can now apply for Bellevue's Eastside Arts Partnership grants, which offer up to $15,000 in annual operating support. Eligible 501(c)(3) groups based on the Eastside, including Mercer Island, must provide public arts or cultural programming and apply by October 10, with bonus funding possible for expanded access efforts.

• Goodrum has the Ultimate summer vacation (mi-reporter.com) — Mercer Islander and MIHS alum Nikolas Goodrum just helped the U.S. U20 men's Ultimate team earn second place at the World Junior Championships in Spain. The 18-year-old, who grew up playing Ultimate on Mercer Island, now competes for UW and practice-squads with elite club team Seattle Mixtape.
