• Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 2 Under Investigation (sweetlaw.com) — A multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2 just west of Monroe sent two people to nearby hospitals and shut down both directions of the highway early Tuesday morning. Lanes were closed between Fryelands Boulevard and Roosevelt Road for several hours while crews freed an overturned driver and cleared the scene, with traffic fully restored by mid-morning.
   

• Prep girls soccer: Greear's clutch brace lifts Monroe at districts (heraldnet.com) — Monroe High’s girls soccer team kept its postseason hopes alive with a 3-1 district win over Mountlake Terrace, powered by two second-half goals from sophomore Finley Greear. The Bearcats, now 10-4-3, advance to a loser-out quarterfinal against Stanwood on Saturday, while several other area teams also battled to extend their seasons.
