The Sedro-Woolley High School graduate reflects on a decade in the sport, while her Mount Vernon gym continues developing younger athletes who are already earning top regional finishes. 
• Anacortes council approves transportation plan, talks World Cup art installation (goskagit.com) — Skagit County’s World Cup-inspired “Find Every Letter” art project is bringing oversized city-name letters to several communities, including Mount Vernon, funded by a Seattle Foundation grant. While Anacortes leaders also advanced a long-range transportation plan and landfill cleanup agreement, Mount Vernon residents can watch for their own photo-ready letters as part of the countywide tourism push.
