• Help Prevent Elk Deaths on I-90 with the Upper Snoqualmie Valley Elk Management Group (livingsnoqualmie.com) — North Bend resident Sharen Marsall is urgently seeking local volunteers to help repair damaged wildlife fencing along I-90, where elk-vehicle collisions have been rising. By joining the Upper Snoqualmie Valley Elk Management Group, you can work on fence repairs, habitat restoration, and forage seeding that protect elk and make a major safety difference for North Bend drivers. 
• Hands-on history (bellinghamherald.com) — High school students around Washington can apply now for a free four-day Youth Heritage Project that previously brought teens to the Mountains to Sound Greenway near North Bend and Snoqualmie. This summer’s session runs July 13–16 in Ellensburg, with lodging, meals, and transportation covered while students explore museums, a wind farm, and hands-on projects in historic preservation and potential heritage careers.
