• Traffic deaths on the rise in North Central Washington (methowvalleynews.com) — Drivers from Pateros heading toward Twisp on Highway 153 are part of a corridor where two traffic deaths were recorded last year, amid a sharp rise in fatalities across Okanogan, Douglas, and Chelan counties. While statewide crash deaths are slowly declining, local numbers are climbing, prompting extra patrols and renewed warnings about speeding, impairment, distraction, and seat belt use.
