• Port Townsend sends counteroffer for appeal on comprehensive plan (peninsuladailynews.com) — Port Townsend city officials have issued a counteroffer in response to Affordable Hometown Port Townsend’s appeal of the city’s new comprehensive plan, rejecting calls for a moratorium and an Environmental Impact Statement. Instead, the city proposes targeted revisions to housing analyses plus public studies on affordable housing funding and tenant protections tailored to Port Townsend’s market, with the offer expiring May 15. 
• Thomas Warner Camfield (ptleader.com) — Port Townsend is mourning longtime journalist and civic leader Thomas Warner Camfield, who died April 5 at age 97 in his hometown. A former Port Townsend Leader editor-publisher, city council member, historian, and Hall of Fame alum, he chronicled local history for decades and remained deeply involved in community life; a memorial gathering will be announced later.
