US195 Traffic Delays Near Pullman Running Later Into The Morning To 9:00 Through Next Week (dailyfly.com) — Expect longer morning delays on U.S. 195 just north of Pullman, as nighttime repaving will now keep one-way, flagger-controlled traffic in place until 9 a.m. through Friday, June 19. Crews are grinding and repaving the same stretch each night, causing delays up to 15 minutes, with work starting at 6 p.m. and the overall project expected to last about a month.

Combining Citizen Science and AI to Better Understand Agriculture (usda.gov) — A Pullman-based USDA researcher and colleagues helped develop an AI system called FLORIST that analyzes citizen scientists’ photos of switchgrass to study how the plant adapts across climates. Their work shows how everyday contributors and formal experiments can combine to reveal flowering patterns that traditional garden trials alone might miss, and they plan to expand the approach beyond perennial grasses.
