The Ostrea project will feed clean energy into the regional grid, generate millions in tax revenue, and reflects how Redmond's tech giant is helping drive Washington's fast-growing, renewable-focused economy.
   

• When Seattle's next light rail station will open (seattletimes.com) — Sound Transit will open Pinehurst Station in North Seattle on September 30, but Redmond riders are already part of the expanded light rail era, with earlier extensions reaching upper and downtown Redmond drawing big crowds. For local commuters, the new infill station and broader network improvements mean more options for cross-region trips, even though Redmond itself isn't getting a brand-new stop this time.
   

• Highline Pirates build culture and confidence ahead of 2026 varsity football season, Coach Jackson says (b-townblog.com) — Highline High School's football team will visit Redmond High on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, for a conference matchup that local fans can circle on their calendars. Coach Johntye Jackson says his young Pirates squad has focused on culture, positivity, and daily improvement after last year's 1-8 season, and he's urging community members to turn out and support the team throughout a schedule packed with district rivals.
